Current Research Projects
Sustainable Phosphate Futures
The Sustainable Phosphate Futures for New Zealand project was established to explore strategies to enhance the efficient use of phosphate resources as well as to review strategies to enhance the security of supply of phosphate for New Zealand agriculture through the use of New Zealand sourced phosphate.
Protein Future Scenarios
This research programme has developed scenarios for plausible future states associated with the impact of 'new proteins', and modelled the economic, land use, and environmental implications.
Enhancing Assurance Schemes (2024)
This project undertook research and developed recommendations to enhance assurance programmes, including how they can be used more effectively to build trust between farmers and communities.
Regen Hort (2020-2024)
The AgriBusiness Group were contracted to manage the regen hort project that had joint involvement from MPI, T&G and Zespri investigating regenerative horticulture
Supercharging SWNZ (2022-2024)
Supercharging SWNZ was a project The AgriBusiness Group worked on in conjunction with NZ Winegrowers from 2022-2023.
KaiTiaki Intelligence Platforms
This project aims to merge cutting-edge environmental sensing technologies with mātauranga Māori to design a sophisticated environmentally focused kaitiaki (guardianship right and responsibility) intelligence platform.

The NZ Sustainability Dashboard (2012-2018)
The New Zealand Sustainability Dashboard facilitates unified monitoring and learning for sustainable agriculture in New Zealand and aims to enhance sustainability assessment and reporting in response to increasing market, business and regulatory drivers and requirements.
SWNZ Scorecard review - Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand (2018)
The AgriBusiness Group worked with New Zealand Winegrowers to update the Sustainable Wine New Zealand (SWNZ) scorecard.
Social Sustainability Analysis - Zespri (2018)
